Overview
Mike has been trying cases before juries in courtrooms in Southern West Virginia since 1980. In 1997 he obtained a verdict of 2.6 million in Cabell County against Caterpiller Inc. Mike has litigated and won millions in compensation on wrongful death claims brought on behalf of innocent victims of reckless conduct.
Mr. Woelfel has won more than 100 substantial monetary awards on civil rights claims in state and federal courts, delivering justice for victims of misconduct by public officials. Severally, years ago, Michael recovered a 2-million-dollar settlement against corporate defendants in a West Huntington tort civil action. He is representing Cabell County and Fayette County in mass-tort opioid litigation which is resulting in millions of dollars in cash awards for his clients.
